Sućuraj is a small village situated on the north-eastern part of the island of Hvar. The earliest documents of Sućuraj date from the XIV century, but Sućuraj was already named in the Iliad of Homer named Kila on the east part of Leka (Hvar). The findings testify that there was 2 neighboring medieval cities drowned after an earthquake, the remains of which are still visible in the sea.

One of the most famous monuments of Sucuraj is the church of St. Ante from Padova in Baroque style, then we find the monastery of St. Augustine and the church of St. Juraj. In the center of Sućuraj there are several narrow streets surrounded by stone houses. We suggest you to visit the lighthouse of Sućuraj. We advise you to taste the wines , olive oil and grappa homemade in Hvar, but also fish and other specialties from Dalmatia. In Sućuraj there are several beaches located in bays covered with sand, gravel and pebbles ideal for family holidays. The most famous beaches in Sućuraj are the beaches of the bay of Perna and the beaches of bay Mlaska with fine sand, unique in Croatia . In Sucuraj you can practice all kinds of sports, from fishing to cycling , from sailing to scuba diving but not even miss the nightly entertainment. During the summer various cultural events are held in Sućuraj and local festivals known as Ribarska noć. In Sućuraj you can accommodate both in private houses and apartments as well as in hotels.
