The Marjan is a hill, a peninsula and a protected park which is located in the western part of the Split peninsula. Split is situated right at the foot of Mount Marjan.

The highest pick of Marjan is the Telegrin. The name comes from the fact that during the Napoleonic era, there was a telegraph station. The Marjan is approximately 3.5 km long and 1.5 km wide. In the southern part of Marjan is situated the peninsula of Sustipan, which closes, together with the hill of Marjan, the harbour of the city of Split. The mountain Marjan covers an area of about 340 hectares, half of which is covered with pine trees. The Marjan was proclaimed a protected park in 1964.
