Korčula, Korčula – Don’t miss
The town of Korcula is enclosed in defensive walls cadenced by a series of towers. Korcula was built with an urban fishbone to give greater benefit to the people: the roads on the west side are straight to allow the entry of the mistral to cool the city, while those to the east are curved to prevent the bora in the winter mounths. We suggest you to visit the Gothic-Renaissance Cathedral of St. Mark, the Civic Museum and the Museum of Marco Polo, who was born in Korcula. The Mareska is the traditional dance of swords held every Monday and Thursday evening from June to September in Korcula.
