The lake was built in the 1988. The main streams of the lake Butoniga are Draguc and Račički Lake Butoniga is at an altitude between 40 and 500 meters. Surface is 73 km2. The lake area at normal backflow is 2.45 km2. Reservoir volume is 19.7 million m3, of which the dead area for sediment disposal is 2.2 million m3. Overflow threshold is 41 meters above sea level. The water from the Butoniga is distributed to consumers in Pazin, Porec and Rovinj. Water supply capacity is 1000 l / s.
