Peroj takes advantage of its position in the best possible way. Peroj is a small town situated about one kilometer away from the coast and very close to Fažana and at the same time it has a beautiful view of Brijuni National Park. It was mentioned as a summer vacation destinations since the Roman era. It is a valuable and interesting archaeological site so we recommend it to those who wish to have a vacation away from the noise. The Peroj lime-stone coast descending to the sea is surrounder by beaches stretchng out to the Portić and Marić leading to a little port which was for centuries Vodnjan’s port of trade to and from Venice. In the village you can visit the church of St. Stephen and the orthodox church of St. Spiridon, while a short way from Peroj you will encounter St. Foška (patron saint of rheumatism, arthritis and headaches). Today Peroj is a town constantly exposed to continuous urban development with tourism as it final aim . It offers a wide variety of accomodation in private houses and villas. Peroj is well known for its production of high class olive oil and culinary enthusiasts can taste Istrian cuisine and the delicacies of this region in restaurants “Castell” and “Villa Letan”.
